PLAYER OF THE MONTH

               BARBER SPORTING ENTERPRISES

SPONSORS OF

MKDSA PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD

The introduction last year of the Player of the Month Award quickly established itself as a firm favourite with members and players alike. MKDSA members were able to vote each month for the player of their choice, and one member chosen at random from voters to present the award to the winning Player. Comments were made by the winning players that this was a  special  award  for  them,  as it was a real acknowledgement of  their  efforts  by their supporters. The trophies, in presentation cases, were supplied and engraved by Eddie Barber, of Barber Sporting Enterprises, and the players were all thrilled to receive them. Eddie has once again offered to sponsor this award, and MKDSA would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his continued support.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for February is

Michel Pensee-Bilong

Having recently joined the club Michel has firmly established himself in the centre of defence striking up a partnership with Ben Chorley. His solid, no nonsense displays have coincided with our defence drastically reducing the goals conceded tally. A quiet giant of a man who exerts his presence on the pitch by using his formidable strength and at times some intricate control of the ball in a tight situation. His occasional marauding runs from defence into the opposition half strikes fear into the defenders as no matter what happens the ball magically always ends up in his possession.

Well done Michel whose trophy was presented to him before the Port Vale match by Paul Tomkinson and his son Mathew.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for January is Ben Harding

After scoring 5 goals in pre season and getting a couple early on in the season, Ben had a bad injury that kept him out until the middle of January. He made his comeback against Colchester and scored on his return. Although Ben was used in a number of positions before Danny Wilson became manager, he has stayed in midfield for all of the matches he has played since his return.

Ben has recently told MKDons.com that he is getting back to full fitness with every game, and on his recent performances that can only be good news for the Dons. His pace and ability to support the strikers and defenders has shown why he is regarded so highly by Danny Wilson.

The trophy was presented to Ben by lucky winner Joe Richardson who picked Ben Harding as his player of the month.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for December is Ben Chorley

Ben ‘Chopper’ Chorley becomes the first player to win the trophy for the second time. December saw great home form for the MK Dons with Chopper taking part in all the games.

Ben has gone from strength to strength after moving back to central defence, not only is he good in the air but he also uses his experience from playing in midfield to improve his all round play.

The trophy is presented by Eddie Barber, who also sponsors the award. He is joined by his son Gary & grandson George.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for November is Wade Small.

Wade Small has been going from strength to strength playing in a more attacking role up front with Izale McLeod. Wade has already scored a few superb goals this season, and he is in the running for Anglia soccer night's Goal of the year competition. Wade helped to fire the Dons to victory today with two well taken goals. He even had one disallowed for a dubious off side. Well done Wade and keep up the good work!

Wade won this month's award by a mile. So if you want to see your favorite player getting an award next month then get voting. Plus of course if you vote for the winner you have a great chance of presenting the award at the next home game after the voting closes.

Pictured with Wade are lucky voters Christine Greenwood and her son Michael who won the chance to present the award to November's Player of the Month.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for October is Ben Chorley.

Ben Chorley has shown his determination on the pitch on many occasions and is always a very commanding presence during the game. Chorley has captained the Dons on numerous occasions and is a player that you can count on to keep battling right until the final whistle.

Ben just edged the vote this month, so if you want to see your favorite player getting an award next month then get voting. Plus of course if you vote for the winner you have a great chance of presenting the award at the next home game after the voting closes.

Pictured with Ben is lucky voter Jack Day who won the chance to present the award to October's Player of the Month. It was also a very special day for Jack as it was his Birthday on the day of the presentation! And what's more the Dons won the game to go through to the next round of the FA Cup.

In association with Barber Sports - The MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for September is Gareth Edds.

Gareth Edds signed for the Dons during the closed season this year. His first game for the Dons was in a pre-season friendly against Newport Pagnell, which we won 3-0. Gareth really has gone from strength to strength since then and looks great down the right, his best position being right back.

Gareth also has a wicked shot on him and has been very unlucky on several occasions not to score from one of his scorchers. We are sure that it is only a matter of time. Best of luck for the rest of the season Gareth!

Gareth steam rollered the vote this month with a whopping 62.5%. He was well clear of the rest of the pack with Izzy on 18.5% followed by Smith, Small and Bevan on 5%.

Pictured with Gareth is lucky voter Tony Clegg with his son Matthew who won the chance to get his picture with Septmeber's Player of the Month.

In association with Barber Sports - The first MK Dons Supporters Association player of the month for August is Izale McLeod.

After making a big impact with the Dons supporters by scoring on his debut against Barnsley, Izlale or 'Izzy' as he has become known, has shown why Sheffield United were so keen to sign him. Not only does he have blistering pace but he likes to run with the ball. His partnership with Allan Smart is progressing with each game. He is a favourite with fans to finish as the MK Dons top scorer. He was presented to award before the Doncaster game by John Read who voted for Izzy online and was randomly picked.

Izzy won with 31% of the votes. He was closely followed by his striking partner Smart with 25% of the votes and in thrid place was Laurent Herve who got 22 % of the votes. All new signings!
