HOMSA will hold a very special black tie dinner/dance at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday, May 13th to raise funds to enable them to continue their work in the Tsunami stricken area of Sri Lanka.

Local Stars Come Out for Tsunami Appeal Concert

Venue: Stantonbury Theatre

Date: Sunday 23 January 2005

Tickets: only £5

Box Office: 01908 324422

Doors: 6-45pm - 10pm finish

Stars, including local heroes The Blues Collective, MK Dons striker and soul stylist Malvin Kamara, and The Will Snap band are staging a major concert to raise money to help orphans of the Tsunami disaster. The event has been organized by Lee Scriven on behalf of the MK Dons Supporters Club.

The great night out for a good cause is on Sunday, 23rd January 2005 at Stantonbury Theatre in Milton Keynes. Tickets are expected to sell out fast and they are priced at £5. The box office is on: 01908 324422

The evening will also feature appearances by fm103 Horizon's Trevor Marshall, sharing a stage for the first time with breakfast rival BBC Three Counties' Big George Webley as well as Pete Winkelman, comedians and singers and some surprises on the night.

All money raised will go to the Milton Keynes based HOMSA (Hope Outreach Ministries South Asia) aid agency, led by MK GP Dr Sam Muthuvelo who has been operating an orphanage in Navalddy in Sri Lanka for more than 6 years.

Sadly both the village and the orphanage were wiped out on Boxing Day by the Indian Ocean tsunami. This is a very poor rural community, part of the deprived town area of Mullaiteevu which is twinned with MK because of its similar size population. The MK Dons Supporters Association is launching a long term appeal to rebuild this shattered community.

Everybody concerned is donating their services free of charge.

Second Bucket Collection.

The first Bucket Collection for the Tsunami disaster fund was a great success that we are pleased to announce that a second collection is to be made at the FA Cup Match against Peterborough this Saturday. You can also donate clothing and other items listed below to the Club Shop at the National Hockey Stadium.

Donations of sarongs and saris would also be appreciated, but it must be stressed that cash donations wherever possible would be appreciated as we can purchase much more for our cash in India and locally without the concerns of shipping to Sri Lanka.

As each day passes more of the Tragedy unfolds and so highlights the need for all our help. Please give generously.
